2011年是《国际歌》诞生140周年。每个中国人都对《国际歌》的旋律非常熟悉，很多人还能唱出两段1962年修订版的歌词，但多数人不太熟悉《国际歌》全部歌词和部分歌词原意。最近新华社原国际部主任、巴黎总分社原社长杨起“用最浅白的话把它翻译出来，以保持其原汁原味”，使我们这些从小就熟悉《国际歌》的人，对“原装”《国际歌》有所了解。
原歌词一共6段，杨起先生译文如下：
第一段：
起来，地球上的受难者！
起来，饥肠辘辘的苦役！
公理像岩浆一样在火山口下滚动，
最后就要爆发喷涌。
让我们把过去一扫而净，
奴隶们，起来！起来！
世界的基础将要变更；
莫说我们现在什么都不是，
我们要做到一切都行！
第二段：
世界上没有救世主，
上帝、凯撒和演说家都不是救星，
生产者们，我们要自己拯救自己！
我们要作出拯救大家的决定！
要迫使窃贼把侵吞的东西吐出来，
要把我们的思想从囚室里拉出来，
让我们鼓旺炉火，
趁热打铁干起来！
第三段：
国家压迫，法律搞鬼，
倒霉蛋被迫上缴血汗税；
富人哪有义务可言，
穷人的权利只是空谈。
受监管没完没了，
实现平等需要制定新法规：
《不承担义务就不该有权利，
没有权利就不该把义务承担！》
第四段：
矿业大王和铁路大王们，
他们不可一世的嘴脸是多么丑恶，
他们除了把劳动人民洗劫一空，
还干过别的什么勾当？
劳动者所创造的，
都流进了这帮家伙的保险箱。
人民决意让他们归还财富，
这只是求个理所应当。
第五段：
给这些大王们干活，我们烟尘满面，
劳动者之间要祥和，我们只向暴君开战！
让我们规劝军队也发起罢工，
劝他们把枪托倒挂，把队伍解散！
若是这些吃人的野兽，
一定要把迫使我们牺牲当英雄，
他们很快就会看到，
我们的子弹将射向将军的前胸！
第六段：
工人们，农民们，
我们是劳动者的大党；
大地只属于在大地上劳动的人，
让有闲者滚去别的地方。
贪食我们血肉的，有多少魑魅魍魉！
有朝一日，当乌鸦和秃鹫消失时，
太阳将永放光芒！

有很多个版本，除了法文原版和俄文版中文版之外，英文分两个版本，英国和爱尔兰是一样的，但是和美国是不一样的，然后还有billy bragg修改版，建议去wikipedia看看。
